Product test: Daytox skincare

plant power!

I have been using Daytox products for some time, precisely since the change of season, when my skin requires completely different skincare from the winter scheme.

Usually, in summer I need deep but light hydration, a clay mask to regulate the production of sebum and purify the pores, and sunscreen (30-50 SPF). However, I also found time to test new products to be incorporated into this rather basic summer skincare and offer my opinion on the matter.

The first product of their line I tried was the 10% vitamin C serum, fresh, effective, and with the right percentage of vitamin C for the hot season (always to be used in combination with a good sunscreen). Then Daytox introduced me to the other 3 products that I could choose: enzyme peeling, bio facelift, aqua moisture.

‘ All DAYTOX products include the active Detox ingredient ‘BioDtox’ which is 100% obtained from nature. Our unique active ingredient complex of aloe vera, broccoli and citrus strengthens the human body’s defenses and inhibits the formation of free radicals. The skin is protected from oxidative stress. Every day anew.’

Enzyme Peeling

This powder peeling was a real revolution in my skincare, I had never tried anything like that before. The fact that it is a very fine powder is a point in its favor because it is presented, precisely, in its stable formula.

The preparation includes a cap of the product as a reference measurement diluted with a tablespoon of water. This treatment can be done once a week and kept on your face for a maximum of 1-2 minutes (so perfect for a fast treatment when you run out of time!).

It contains extracts of pineapple and papaya that help to give a radiant appearance to the skin (acting as a peeling) and aloe vera to soothe. Pineapple and Papaya extracts are a real beauty trend right now but the prices of these products are usually very prohibitive (aka The Glow Recipe), so I really appreciated both the quality and the price here (9,95€). I suggest not to use other peelings or vitamin C serums in combination with this product to avoid over-exfoliating your skin.

Bio Facelift

This stuff here is serious. The lifting effect is immediate and I’m not kidding! This serum is a cocktail of few but good ingredients. The Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 in it- science for nerds? – helps the skin to produce collagen and elastin again. If you are already in your 40s like me, this should be definitely part of your skincare. Not enough? No!

It also contains an extract of Brassica Oleracea Italica, a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from UV rays and free radical damage and hyaluronic acid.

Aqua Moisture

Among the three products, this is the only one that, unfortunately, is less suitable for my (normal) skin type.

I would recommend this lotion-cream to skins that tend to be dry as it helps to maintain hydration for a long time by acting as a barrier.

It is a cream enriched with aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, rhubarb extract (anti-inflammatory and antioxidant), and cucumber extract (refreshing), it has a very pleasant and unisex summer scent, even if I admit that I am no longer used to scents for skincare products. It is very versatile, and in fact, it is also used as a body cream!
