Diving into the Kbeauty world can be overwhelming, as there are many valuable brands but also new coming every month. This is why, before purchasing a new product or having a collaboration I do my homework: I read about the brand, if other reviews are available I read all of them and of course I check the ingredients and the formulas in their products. Kaine is a brand that immediately caught my attention for their vegan and clean formulas packed with adaptogens (mushrooms!) and kombucha.
Why mushrooms is good stuff for your skin?
Mushrooms are well known in skincare for having exceptional antioxidant properties, and help to reduce inflammation and irritation. They have also deeply hydrating properties.
It’s all about healthy aging!
Honestly: our skin goal should be about supporting healthy aging. The time and getting old shouldn’t be our concern, but keeping a good skin, protecting it by external environment such as ultraviolet radiation.

I have normal skin, but a bit more on the drier side during the cold season. I have tested Kaine products for one month and never had any redness, itchiness, reaction of any kind. All these products are beard friendly, if you like me are looking for products that do not build up on your beard or cause flakiness on your skin. Some of these products have a gentle scent – hearty and woody- due their ingredients which personally didn’t bother me at all.
Rosemary Relief Gel Cleanser
This gel cleanser is a star in the entire line. I tend to have buildup pores on my nose (who does not?) and this formula works just perfect to gently exfoliate my skin with 0.45% BHA (Salicylic Acid), packed with purifying 5% rosemary leaf extract that delivers this sensorial experience while washing your face. It contains also a green blend of broccoli extract, spinach extract, mugwort leaf water, cabbage extract, okra fruit extract. My skin just loves anything with greens like that on it, so I am impressed by the selection of the ingredients and the price ($1500). I imagine, in summer, I can truly wash my face with this, apply the toner and good sunscreen and I will be just fine.
Kombu Balancing Ampoule Toner
When it comes to a toner, I am extremely demanding and has to follow these requirements that I already know will perform greatly on my skin:
- not stripping
- hybrid texture between a toner and an essence
- not too watery
- with ferments
Did Kaine pass the test? Absolutely yes. I like to apply my toner directly with my hands, I want that all the proprieties of this juice don’t get wasted on a cotton pad and sink into my skin (not rubbing but gentling patting). This toner is almost like a serum, as the 8 different hyaluronic acids make its formula rich. It has 60% of kombucha extract in it. This fermented black tea it’s like a spell for your skin: it includes lactic acid bacteria which can lightly exfoliate the skin to brighten and even skin tone. It’s the perfect way to complement the effects and benefits of the cleanser.
Chaga Collagen Charging Serum
Packaging and color of this serum should be a good reason enough to give it a try. By the way, did I say that Kaine uses PCR packaging that is manufactured from used and recycled plastics and glasses that are reprocessed?
This serum is quite watery, due its special formulation with 70% of precious Chaga mushroom extract. I like to give a good shake before the use to make it sure that the dropper can perform the best way on taking out the product. You can actually mix it with any product of your skin care as a booster, I personally like to apply it plain straight after the toner. It contains squalane and jojoba oil to help the skin barriere and some vegan collagen.
