How to keep your skin barrier healthy with rice extract| I’m from review

In recent years, skincare has focused heavily on one of the most important topics among all: how to protect and strengthen the skin barrier.

What is the skin barrier?

Helthline wrote a very interesting article about it.

The outermost layer, called the stratum corneum is often described as a brick. It consists of tough skin cells called corneocytes that are bound together by mortar-like lipids. This is your skin barrier.

So, what products to introduce into one’s skincare routine to strengthen it?

Lately I have reviewed the new V Biome line by Neogen that has a lot of good active ingredients to protect your skin, so it’s definitely a topic you will hear quite often here.

Korean brand I’m From has launched the “Rice” line that will make any skin barrier happy. The rice extract, infused in the entire line, is indeed one of the valuable ingredients and helps to maintain elasticity and fight water loss.

I’m From – Rice Toner

The toner is packed with almost 78% of rice extract, it has a milky-watery texture (the formula doesn’t break up but a good shake before using it is recommended). This toner can easily layered to enhance its hydrating power. Other active ingredients include niacinamide (vitamin B3), which helps the lipid barrier and contributes to keratin production, and adenosine, a yeast derived ingredients, which has soothing properties.

I’m From – Rice Serum

Serum

The serum has a translucent white gel-like consistency that is rich and quickly absorbed. Contains 73% Rice Germ Fermented Extract. It is an ideal serum for all seasons and skin types and contains no fragrance. It greatly helps to retain skin hydration by harnessing the properties of rice germ. This is the fraction of the grain with the richest nutrient content. Rice germ contains 95% of the total tocopherols of the entire grain, a third of the oil content and most of the vitamins and minerals.

I’m from – Rice Cream

The cream has a rich, frothy, white texture but absorbs leaving a dewy and glowing finish to the skin. I find it particularly suitable for the evening, or as a plumping treatment in the afternoon when I wash my face to remove impurities and sunscreen residue and my skin is particularly in need of nourishment and protection. In the list of its ingredients, at the first place we have rice bran extract, followed by other valuable ingredients such as shea butter, bisabolol (anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant) and panthenol.
